NEXT-UP…BROADCAST AT NEXTDOOR
This just added to my “gig-list”…I’ll be playing as part of BROADCAST next week Wednesday, June 16 at NextDoor in Chinatown (Downtown HNL!). Other acts on the bill that evening are Falcon Lord and Black Sapote (pictured above). I can’t wait to play! Gonna try to make this a rockin show with new songs and some electric guitar. Click here for details about the event.

MANIFEST TONIGHT! 6:30-9PM
I’ll be playing an early set at Manifest in Downtown Honolulu tonight (6/4) at 6:30pm. My friend Joni Llamedo from the band “Wait for It” might be joining me on a few songs. If you were at Manifest last week Wednesday you would have heard her lovely voice! It should be a great vibe and fun fun fun!
Then…don’t forget tomorrow night (6/5), 9pm, I’ll be playing a short set at Mercury Bar as a part of F*ck First Fridays. Hope to see you all there!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOG! LOTS OF NEW SHOWS AND OTHER STUFF GOING ON…
Just got notification from Tumblr that this blog is officially a year old today! Trying to think back to last year at this same time. I must’ve been doing the exact same thing I am now…sunburnt typing away furiously about my music. So much has happened since! I’d say it’s been a pretty great year.
So I made it back safely to Honolulu from recording in Portland a few weeks ago. It’s been nothing but go-go-go since. If you click on my “Shows” tab you’ll notice I’ve got a few gigs lined up this coming month. I hope you can all make it by at least one performance. I’ll be playing new material that I recorded for the new album.
And so what about the album??? Well, it’s getting mixed this week. Hopefully I will be able to release it in the next few months. I’ll keep you all updated!
Until then…hope you all are having a lovely Memorial Day weekend.
xx,
Sabrina

So excited to be a part of the Second Annual Mele Songwriters Workshop this year. It runs from June 25-27, 2010 at Honolulu Community College. Thanks to Eric Lagrimas (drummer from the band Pimpbot) for asking me to share a panel on Independent Songwriters with singer/songwriter Katie Herzig. I hope I am able to share some useful information and advice! The lineup of guests looks pretty amazing. Check-it out and see if you can attend! I can’t wait to meet the other workshop speakers and songwriters.

Thanks to my new pal Joe Agogo…I have been invited to play this month’s F*&K! First Friday event at the Mercury Bar in Downtown Honolulu. GRLFRNDS will be playing that evening as well, which makes me so happy since Ryan Miyashiro is their bass and keys player. Hair to Stay Tour Pt. 2! I’ll be on at 9pm playing some new songs that will be on the upcoming album. Would love to see you all there!

Happy Easter! Got a little mention and pic in today’s Honolulu Star Bulletin. Check out a great recap of the 2010 SXSW Festival by writer Gary Chun.

I also promised to post some pics of mine from SXSW on my Facebook page…here you go! Now off to find a chocolate bunny…

Until next-time…
March has been an amazing month for me; from performances, to traveling, to making new friends and writing new songs. Now it’s time for me to get ready to go into the studio this month…so I’ll be in what I call “hibernation mode.” I’ll still be sharing updates…but no gigs for a while. Stay tuned for some exciting months ahead! And thanks again to everyone who have been so supportive of me and my music. xx

Oh my….I was cleaning out my external hard drive to make room for more demos when I found an old demo of “Right Way” I recorded in 2007 at Hekar Rivera’s studio in Ventura, CA in 2007! If I remember right, I think I did 4 songs in 2 hours or something. All scratch guitar and vocals. (ruff ruff ruff!)

I don’t know why, but it reminds me of an 80’s song…like Pat Benetar style (but definitely not as cool as her!) So crazy to hear where it started…knowing what became of it on “The Anomaly.” xx

KaleidoscopeHad a blast playing Twestival last night. Met Dayton and Yoza who played rockin sets…finally heard the wonderful Candy Diaz play…and my friends from the band Wait for It played a great new song and really got the crowd moving. Next up for me…Kaleidoscope at Thirtynine Hotel on Tuesday, March 30. I’ll be sharing the evening with Christina Nelson and Kamuela Kahoano. The music kicks off at 9pm. Also, my new friend James Munro from Chicago (formerly of the band the Queensmen) will be playing a song or two during my set. Definitely a special treat.
This is my last show for a few months since I’ll be hard at work on the new album. Therefore, I hope you get to come and stop by!
